Oh La

So, I am learning a new language. Spanish to be precise. I have no idea how long it’s going to take me to actually be fluent. I can understand a lot more than I can speak. And I can read a LOT more than I can listen and understand I took Spanish in high school. I learned a lot. I think I spent more time writing notes to the guy who sat next to me than I did listening to the teacher. This might explain the difference between the 3 years of knowledge I should have gained from those Spanish classes compared to the actual content I took away and remember now. It’s coming back though.
3 is my lucky number. So I figure I should be at least 3 languages. Right? So next on my list is French. But, back to the Spanish. Did you know that when you speak in a different language your voice sounds different? Not just because of the accent, but your actual voice? At least mine does. I am to the point where I am speaking full sentences/partial paragraphs and I catch myself stopping and thinking “What the….?” Because I SO do not sound like myself. And it makes me laugh. I’m trying to go for the ‘musical’ accent but sometimes, I don’t think I’m accomplishing it. Side note: I think that the word pillow in Spanish is one of the harder words to say fast. Almohada. Seriously. Who came up with that word? I like pillow SO much better.

Favorite Part of The Trip

My favorite part of the trip I just took to Washington was the Hoh Rain Forest. It was incredible.
Washington has a completely different kind of green than the other places I've been in the United States. I thought that the east coast (Maryland and New Hampshire) were green when I went there last year, but I think that Oregon and Washinton have them beat. It's a different kind of green that you really don't 'get' until you actually see it. It's dense and lush and you think you've seen more colors of green than actually exist, and then you see 8 more different colors. These are both photos along the a trail called the Hall of Mosses in the Hoh Rain Forest. One of these days I'll be going back.

Need a Hug?

Click here --> if you Need a Hug?

My aunt shared this link with me, and it is the best video ever. I wish I had been on that street. The video ends with my favorite quote this week:

For one moment
Our lives met
Our Souls touched
